World Cup Qualifiers Greece vs Spain 11/11/2021 Prediction and Match Preview

Spain are sitting at the 2

Greece (2 wins, 1 loss, 3 draws) did a great job in the first match of these qualifiers, forcing a 1-1 draw on the road against Spain. It was a very lopsided match, where Greece scored from the penalty kick.

Greece are sitting at the 3rd spot of this group with 9 points, 4 points behind Spain. In order to qualify they need to win their last two matches (at home against Spain and Kosovo), and Spain to not beat Sweden in their final match. That’s far from an easy task, but Greece will fight hard for their chances.

Spain (4 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw) are having a pretty solid run in the World Cup Qualifiers so far, sitting at the 2nd spot with 13 points, two points behind Sweden and 4 points ahead of Greece. Their only loss so far has come by 2-1 against Sweden on the road, and their only draw was a 1-1 at home against Greece in the opener.

Spain lost to France by 2-1 in their most recent match, which was actually the Nations League final. They have been ireally hard to beat lately, losing just 2 of their last 18 matches in all competitions (7 wins, 2 losses, 9 draws).

However, they kept just 5 clean sheets in that 18-match span and conceded 2+ goals in just 3 of those matches. Spain made it all the way to the EURO semi-finals over the summer but lost to Italy in the penalty kicks. Since then they have 3 wins and 2 losses in all competitions.

Greece vs Spain. Greece has never been an easy target for Spain, especially in recent years, where they have 1 win, 2 losses and 2 draws against them. They’ve scored exactly one goal in each of their last four matches against Spain, and both their losses in that span came by exactly one goal.

This is a Hail Mary for Greece, who only need a win here in order to keep their qualifying hopes alive. Spain know that they can qualify even with a draw here, and they will surely have some revenge thoughts after the draw in Spain. We are backing Greece’s fighting spirit here, taking Greece with +1.25. A Greece win (at +750) would not be the most surprising thing either.
