Liverpool assistant manager Zeljko Buvac is on the verge of being appointed as Fenerbahce‘s new boss, according to a report.
Buvac left Liverpool at the end of April amid reports of a fallout with manager Jurgen Klopp, although the club insisted that his departure was only a temporary one for “personal reasons”.
The 50-year-old has since been linked with the Arsenal manager’s job, but Turkish outlet Sporx reports that he has now agreed terms with Fenerbahce to succeed Aykut Kocaman.
Fenerbahce’s new sporting director is former Liverpool employee Damien Comolli, and he is thought to have been key in pushing the deal over the line.
The report goes on to claim that official confirmation of the move, which would see Buvac end a near 17-year working relationship with Klopp, is expected later today.
