The former Real Madrid goalkeeper is in good form at Porto this season, having earned clean sheets in his last three games for the club.
The 37-year-old’s last appearance for Spain was in a victory over North Korea back in June 2016 during the European Championships.
According to AS, Casillas contacted Enrique earlier this week about a potential return to the international set-up.
The report adds that no decision has been made by the Spain boss over whether Casillas will be part of his 23-man squad in the near future.
