Manager Jose Mourinho spent £30m to sign Bailly in 2016 but despite making an impact in his first campaign at United, the centre-back has since dropped out of the starting lineup.
The report claims that sources have indicated that the 24-year-old is prepared to remain with the North-West giants until the end of the season before making a decision.
United are unlikely to be willing to sell to a Premier League rival, but any sale would give Mourinho more funds to bring in a new player for his backline.
Bailly has made just three starts in the top flight during the current campaign.
