Bundesliga Dortmund vs Koln 10/30/2021 Prediction and Match Preview

That’s a huge blow for Dortmund, who will have to learn to play without their best player. They will now play host to a very dangerous Koln side on Saturday, who have caused quite a few upsets over the years.

Dortmund (7 wins, 2 losses, 0 draws) are coming off a slim 2-0 home win against second division side Ingolstadt mid-week in the German Cup.

Dortmund also beat Arminia Bielefeld by 3-1 on the road last week, but prior to that they met a harsh 4-0 loss on the road against Ajax in the Champions League. Even so, Dortmund are sitting 2nd in the Bundesliga with 21 points, just 1 point behind Bayern Munich and 2 points ahead of Freiburg.

Dortmund have scored 25 goals, which is the 2nd best offense, and have conceded 15 in the process. However, Haaland (who has scored 9 goals and has assisted 3) will be missing, so that’s almost half their goals. Last but not least, Dortmund have won all 5 home matches this season in the Bundesliga.

Koln (3 wins, 2 losses, 4 draws) are also coming off a mid-week win in the German Cup, beating Stuttgart by 2-0 on the road. Much like Dortmund, Koln scored 2 second half goals (by the same player) to advance.

Last week in the Bundesliga they did a great job at home against Bayer Leverkusen, coming back from two goals behind to force a 2-2 draw. They have been in really solid shape lately, losing only to Hoffenheim in their last 8 matches (3 wins, 1 loss, 4 draws).

Koln are now sitting at the 8th spot of the Bundesliga with 13 points, scoring 15 goals and conceding 16 in the process. However, they have not yet won on the road (2 losses, 2 draws), scoring 4 goals and conceding 10 in the process.

Dortmund vs Koln. Koln were surprisingly good against Dortmund last season, beating them by 2-1 in this venue and forcing a 2-2 draw at home (where they conceded the equalizer at the 90th minute by Haaland).

The last 5 matches between the two sides all had goals from both sides and at least 3 total goals. What worries me, though, is the fact that Haaland is missing. It might not be so crazy to back Koln with +1.25 goals here.
